October is here! With crisp autumn air, crunchy leaves, and Halloween festivities on the horizon, it’s a great time to enjoy the season with your pets. But along with the fun come a few safety concerns to keep in mind. Here are some tips to help your furry family members stay happy and healthy this fall.
🍂Fall Safety Tips
1. Watch for Mushrooms - While many mushrooms are harmless, some wild varieties can be toxic to pets. Keep an eye out on walks and in your yard.

2. Keep Warm - Cooler temperatures can sneak up quickly. Short-coated or senior pets may appreciate a cozy sweater during walks.
3. Leaf Piles - Dogs love to jump into them, but piles of leaves can hide mold, ticks, or sharp sticks. Supervise play and avoid letting pets nibble on damp leaves.
4. Seasonal Allergies - Just like us, pets can get itchy during fall allergy season. If your pet is licking, scratching, or sneezing more than usual, check in with your vet.
🎃 Halloween Safety Tips
1. Candy Caution - Chocolate, sugar-free gum, and many Halloween treats are toxic to pets. Keep the candy bowl out of reach.

2. Costumes - If your pet wears a costume, make sure it’s comfortable, non-restrictive, and free from small parts they could chew off.
3. Trick-or-Treaters - The doorbell and costumes can be overwhelming. Consider creating a quiet, safe space for your pet away from the excitement.
4. Decorations - Curious pets may chew on cords, knock over candles, or get tangled in décor. Opt for battery-operated candles and keep decorations out of reach.
Fall and Halloween are wonderful times to make memories with your pets — whether it’s a crisp walk, a pumpkin photo shoot, or just cuddling indoors. With a little extra care, you can make sure they enjoy the season safely.
